When I was in first grade I fell in love with a terrible reproduction of Vincent Van Gogh's painting, The Starry Night, that hung prominently on the art room wall at school. It was a magical picture that I could lose myself in every week during art class. I studied it repeatedly and began to fall in love with all things art-related. Through this introductory experience, I discovered my lifelong passion in studying, loving and creating art.
I graduated from UCSC with a B.A. in Studio Art, and a minor in Art History. Shortly after, I earned a Masters in Teaching from USF. I taught both Kindergarten and Fourth Grade for ten years in San Francisco elementary schools before becoming a mother to two young girls.
I am an artist, art-lover, educator and mother who has a passion for combining all these things into one. I offer classes to children (ages 5 and up) that introduce artistic ideas, techniques, and strategies in a variety of media. Using my professional training and experience as an elementary school teacher, your child will be taught to maximize his/her understanding of artistic concepts while producing an original finished work of art to take home. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment in which we can view, talk about, and create art while having fun and broadening our knowledge of artists and visual art.
